UK-China Film Collab (UCFC) signs the first ever placement partnership with Birkbeck, University of London. It will offer students an 8-week industry experience as part of their studies.
The placement opportunity is intended to allow students from Birkbeck to gain practical experience in relevant employment to their academic course. The placement aims to enable students to apply and integrate areas of subject and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours to enable them to meet course learning outcomes. Each placement provides the student with work-based learning experience.
Each placement constitutes a module for the student, credited as part of their academic study at Birkbeck and for which the student will be producing assessed work. The placements are designed to be mutually beneficial, and the student is responsible for carrying out their tasks and duties in a professional manner.
Since the signing of the partnership, UCFC have welcomed our first placement candidate Shanshan Wu. Shanshan is currently working as the Lead of Marketing for our annual film festival, Odyssey: a Chinese cinema season (10 May – 10 June).
