Grzegorz (Greg) Bawol from De Montfort University has been accepted to join UK-China Film Collab as Foreign Film Distribution Specialist. Greg will undertake a 3-week internship as part of his credited placement module.
Here is Greg’s introduction to himself:
“My name is Grzegorz (Greg) Bawol. I am currently studying a BA course, Arts and Festivals Management at De Montfort University in Leicester. Before that I have been studying Media at DMU International College. I have gravitated my interests towards film management, planning and the overall in-and-outs of the industry regarding the box office and distribution. My interest for this is fuelled by my passion for film, alongside my enjoyment of attention to detail while consuming any production and strive to further learn and understand the business operations of this particular area of the industry – which is what I am looking to research as my project within the UCFC.
I am happy to become a part of UCFC for my placement. I believe it will give me a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will help me become a professional film executive in the future.
The focus of my project is the foreign films distribution in the United Kingdom. I am going to research how Britain is benefited by non-British productions. I learn mostly about the impact of the Polish projects within the UK. My project is also based around issues such as box office, stakeholders and performance of the foreign titles.”
