Kuo has been selected to join the organisation via the 2025-2026 Future Talent Programme.
Kuo Li is a filmmaker, curator, journalist, and academic tutor working between China and the UK. Her passion for cinema began at thirteen, when she first stepped onto a film set and experienced the transformative power of storytelling. She graduated from the Beijing Film Academy and earned a Master’s at the London Film School and University of Warwick.
Her filmmaking work focuses on directing and producing, engaging other aspects of filmmaking. Across her completed and ongoing projects, she explores mixed-heritage children navigating dual cultures and ageing communities reflecting on lives lived far from home. Drawing on personal experience, field research, and collaborative filmmaking, she captures intimate everyday moments where culture, memory, and emotion intersect. Her works have been included in international festivals and selected for the British Council Talent Programme.
She is working toward developing long-term film projects and platforms with filmmakers, families, film schools, and community organisations. These initiatives aim to bridge creative practice and social engagement, positioning cinema as a shared and lasting space for dialogue, care, and cultural exchange.
