A surprise, French director Luc Besson appears at Pingyao International Film Festival while Dogman receives a Chinese premiere.
For cinephiles in China, Luc Besson is someone who opened their cinematic door. It’s a real treat for young audiences to meet the him in Pingyao during the festival. Besson came with his new film Dogman (2023) which had its World Premiere in Venice 2 months ago.
Dogman is a 2023 English-language French action drama film written and directed by Luc Besson and starring Caleb Landry Jones, Jojo T. Gibbs, Christopher Denham, John Charles Aguilar and Grace Palma. Set in New Jersey, it depicts a man who was abused by his father and loves dogs.
The film was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, where it premiered on 31 August 2023. It was released in France on 27 September 2023.
