Odyssey: a Chinese cinema season – 60+ films in 8 curated sections, 10 discussion panels, exclusive Q&As and 4 awards. A not-to-be-missed festival in the UK to celebrate international cinema!
This panel will feature environmental experts from the UK, China, and the international film and animation industry to discuss the importance of global sustainability as a storytelling strategy for the internationalisation of films.
Environmental sustainability is a topic of global relevance, and one which needs international action in order to succeed. This panel will explore the power that films have in making a social impact and showing people how important this matter is. Moreover, it will highlight the potential of the theme of sustainability in transforming national, culturally bound, or personal stories into international and global ones.
The panel will present very different approaches to the theme of sustainability in media, including animation, documentary, short films, and television, and will explore opportunities for the Chinese film industry to touch upon this topic to facilitate a better distribution of their films worldwide. This panel will create a bridge between animators and filmmakers and UK and China-based NGOs and charities.
*This panel will be conducted in English.
