After voting by the previous members, Qinhan Chen has been selected to join UK-China Film Collab as a new member via the organisation’s Future Talent Programme 2024-2025.
“Hi, I am Qinghan, a graduate student in film and television studies at the University of Warwick. Currently, I work as a freelance curator and writer in the film and media industry. Driven by a deep passion for film festivals and curation, I have contributed to organisations such as FIRST International Film Festival, Chinese Film Festival Hamburg, Screening Rights and Film Festival and Odyssey Film Festival. Additionally, I am the co-founder of Void Screen, an experimental film screening programme.
As part of my application to the UK-China Film Collab’s Future Talent Programme this year, I plan to organise a long-term screening programme centered on East Asian women’s first-person documentary. It will also include academic research and discussions on the new forms of aesthetics presented in these works. Through these activities, I aim to explore innovative narrative strategies in independent films from East Asia.”
