Ruohan Tang from the University of Southampton joined UCFC as a member via the organisation’s Future Talent Programme 2020-2021.
Here is Ruohan’s autobiography:
“I am Senior Teaching Fellow (soon be the Senior Lecture next academic year) in Digital Media Practices at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. EDI lead for the Art and Media Technology Department. I am also the HEA Fellow and currently a researcher at the Global Smart Lab, focusing on digital media practices of computing technology with Artificial Intelligence and Immersive media. Central to my work are critical & creative methods, interdisciplinary investigations, international collaborations, and a commitment to advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion of media representation and practices. I have been nominated for the Best XR Educator Award of the 2025 Innovate UK Immersive Tech Award. I recently exhibited Tender Interbeing: The Future of Design with Empathy in London Design Festival, including six collaborative VR/AR projects on the theme of the ‘Inclusive Future’ between WSA and Communication University of China, Beijing. I have also been working as a jury member in Boundless ∞ Immersive Section at the 15th Beijing International Film Festival.
