As an extension to the first stage of the UK-China Film Collaboration Project, together with our partners, we will be organising an investment call event to share some of our findings, insights and new ideas in Shanghai this December.
December 10 2019, 13:30-15:30
Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association
Room 803, No.58, Nanchang Road, Shanghai, China
Introduction
This investment call event is informed by the first stage of UK-China Film Collaboration Project, funded by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council. Led by Dr Hiu Man Chan from Cardiff University, between February and October 2019, the project conducted a scoping study on different models of collaboration related to film distribution and exhibition. The UK is the most innovative country where it comes to cinema culture and economy. On the other hand, China is currently the second biggest film market which will soon take over the US. What are the unexplored opportunities for entrepreneurs to work together between Shanghai and the UK? How can we successfully combine both the culture and industry aspects of film via these opportunities? In addition to trading film rights and organising film festivals, the project team has identified several new innovative models which yet exist in the market. Alongside its project partners, via this one-off event, the UK-China Film Collab Project will share with you the latest ideas, insights as well as proposals that we have put together to gather initial investment interests.
Attendees to this event will be selected. If you are interested in attending, please send a copy of your business card and a paragraph of your intention to admin@ukchinafilm.com no later than 30 November.
