Today, Shanghai International Film & TV Festival 2020 published the dates for the event and the posters of the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) and the 26th Shanghai TV Festival (STVF).
The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival will be held from July 25 to August 2, and the 26th Shanghai TV Festival will be held from August 3 to August 7. This will be the first major international film and TV festival event held in China since the COVID-19 outbreak at the beginning of the year.
The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival will be hosted by China Media Group and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The 26th Shanghai TV Festival will be hosted by State Administration of Radio and Television, China Media Group and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
2020 Shanghai International Film & TV Festival will be held both offline and online to minimize the impact of the pandemic, while meeting people’s demand for films and TV dramas and promoting the resumption of work and operation in the film and TV industry. The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival will include theater screening, outdoor screening and online screening, as well as activities such as Golden Goblet Forum, International Film and TV Market, “Belt and Road” Film Week, and SIFF PROJECT. The 26th Shanghai TV Festival will include activities such as Magnolia Awards, International TV showcase, Magnolia TV Forum, International Film and TV Market, and Shanghai Internet Summit.
On the evening of July 18, the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival will release the schedule for International Film Panorama. On the morning of July 20, Taopiaopiao, the official ticketing platform designated by SIFF, will start to sell tickets online. According to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, tickets won’t be sold offline for the event this year, and the occupancy rate for each film won’t exceed 30%.
The UK-China Film Collab will reveal a list of UK films that have been selected in the festival in due course.
