Founder’s Award
Passing by Rebecca Hall

“I am delighted to congratulate the worthy winners of the landmark 10th tve-GSFA. The global participation in these awards is a matter of great satisfaction indicating the increasing concern organisations and individuals have for the environment. GSFA has come a long way over the past ten years and we are delighted that we can provide such a platform to those striving to contribute towards improving and reversing the disastrous effects of climate change.
I am delighted that Passing won the Founder’s Award. Apart from its cinematic excellence it shows how centuries on, race relations remain relevant in today’s world. Last year the same award went to Octopus My Teacher which later in the year went on to win the Oscar. We continue to strive to use the awards to raise awareness, encourage participation of businesses, corporates and individuals to remain a harbinger of climate consciousness and a socially equitable society,”
said Founder of GSFA, Surina Narula.

“tve came into being 37 years ago to provide a platform where ideas, innovations and solutions are brought together through storytelling. A registered UK charity, tve works with filmmakers and partners worldwide to run media projects, make films and promote effective, evidence-based storytelling about environmental issues through films. While tve- GSFA is the annual culmination of our efforts, we work all year round through our various programmes and initiatives. We constantly encourage participation of the youth through our tvebiomovies, tveMasterclass and have several Youth Ambassadors across the globe. We believe our efforts will continue to add value to the resolution of climate change devastations,” said Chair, tve, Mei-Sim Lai.

“We are delighted with the success of GSFA and congratulate the worthy winners. As the headline sponsor this year, we are delighted to have formally launched Blockchain World at the event. Over the years GSFA has made an insurmountable impact with the solutions and technology that they’ve provided. However, while we are enjoying the benefits that the digital age brings, we occasionally still face the devastating impacts that these digital tools indirectly have on our planet. With the launch of Blockchain World we look to initiate a sustainable blockchain sector, which is in line with the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, in order to discover revolutionary technological solutions from AI and blockchain sectors,” said Grace Bian, Vice President, GSFA, Chair, Blockchain World
