Join us to celebrate Odyssey 2023’s achievement this year at tve’s Summer Party at the famous Hyver Hall on Sunday 9 July.

Without tve, there wouldn’t have been Odyssey 2023 and its theme dedicated to ‘Global Sustainability’. Therefore we would like to invite Odyssey’s friends to join us at this very special party.

UK-China Film Collab, presenter of Odyssey 2023 has been supporting tve from different aspects for almost 3 years, including its annual “Global Sustainability Film Awards (GSFA)”. Throughout this journey, the legacy of tve has left an impact on us, resulting in embracing the theme ‘Global Sustainability’ as the NGO’s annual film festival’s central theme for 2023. Odyssey 2023 is the first international Chinese film festival dedicated to this topic.

For more than 39 years, tve (Television for the Environment) has been using the power of storytelling to drive real-world action for a more sustainable future. They believe that film is a powerful tool for education, advocacy, and change. By telling stories that inspire and inform, they hope to empower people to take action to protect our planet.

tve works with filmmakers and partners around the world to produce films about environmental challenges and solutions. Their films span a range of formats, from long-form documentaries to innovative television series and short digital videos. They have a proven track record of producing high-quality films that have a positive impact on the world.

Here are just a few examples of the impact of tve’s work:

1. “The Last Glaciers” helped raise awareness of the melting glaciers in the Himalayas, leading to increased government investment in climate change adaptation.
2. Television series “Earth Report” inspired millions of people around the world to care about nature, leading to a surge in support for conservation efforts.
3. Short film “The Story of Plastic” helped raise awareness of the plastic pollution crisis, leading to increased calls for action from governments and businesses.

If you are interested in joining us at the party, please RSVP accordingly by returning this form to Mei Sim Lai OBE DL via meisim@laipeters.org. The registration fee is £75, it will be a donation to the charity tve.
