Yi Fang from the University for the Creative Arts has been selected to join UK-China Film Collab as a member via the organisation’s Future Talent Programme 2022-2023.

Here is Yi’s introduction to her one-year project:

“I have just graduated from the degree of MA Filmmaking at the University for the Creative Arts. I have worked on different projects in the past six years, including journalism, documentary, experimental and narrative film, art exhibition, award-winning commercials, and photography. My professional experience has given me a preference to safeguard good stories and ideas. At the same time, as a producer, I am also more concerned with the management behind the project in terms of co-ordination, budgeting and so on.

As a member of the Future Talent Programme, I will take this opportunity to develop several of my proposals. Firstly, I will work with my peers for Odyssey 2023, to innovate the festival’s content and form. I am also deeply interested in the expression of poetics and literal characteristics of the cinema in different ways, which will be a thematic project which I hope to complete and present. Secondly, I want to achieve a series of flourishing online and offline activities. Throughout the year, I will try to expand our festival’s outreach through different initiatives. I hope to provide both Chinese and British films a more accessible solution for exhibition and communication.”
